So I saw this today. Did a quick search to see if I was just late in news and I haven't found something on the subject. Their website is up again and they will take orders in mid October of this year (aka in like 1 or 2 weeks). They will be built by someone who was trained to build them.

If so, the sound samples didn't sound quite the same as Lane Poors to me. Would be nice to know more about the new pickups, like whether or not they are using the exact same design used by Lane, or something somewhat different.

Still enjoy the M3.5Ws in my Hamer 12-string. If a new design is in the works, it would great is they were more resistant to EMI, as my LP pickups can be a bit buzzy in certain venues.

No. Those are pickups made by Adam Charette, who used to work for Lane.

These new LP pickups are also NOT made by Lane, but another guy who was his apprentice. This new guy bought Lane's old work shop, left over pickups and all (he has been selling them off on eBay).

So chances are they will be more like the real pickups.

I've never had trhe pleasure to try LP pickups but understand that they were some of the best made. Can you describe the tone and, how after all these years, nobody has duplicated or improved on his design?

Not looking for an arguement but am genuinely interested.

IMO, Lane Poors have a relatively clear, uncolored sort of a sound when compared with most pickups. Not as open or powerful as a Q-Tuner, and somewhat low output. Some love them because they seem to transfer the inherent sound of the instrument, while others find them weak or anemic sounding.
