I had another thread recently looking for options for a vintage sounding 5 string P-Bass. Lots of great suggestions, but for the quality of work, price and available options it seems like going with Nino is my best bet. I'm fighting the urge to make it a P/J with a preamp but right now my feeling is that a passive P is the way to go.
Anyway the only thing I'm really stuck on is the wood combo and color scheme. Here are the three main candidates:
Classic Tobacco Burst and Tort (Alder/Pau Ferro) - like this
Blueburst and Pearloid (Ash/Maple) - like this but a P-bass
and
Translucent Brown and Black (Ash/Maple) Like this
if I went with the last one, I would get a vintage tint to the fingerboard like this:
The other option - and it's not in the poll because I don't know if Nino can/will do it is an Antigua burst like this:
