I just ordered some pure nickle fender bass string and ill let you know what I think.

Deep roundwounds, not flats, no brights. Tempted by squeeze, is the sound I'm going for. I've tried DAddarios not deep enough. Please help, no treble.

You will love GHS pressure wound bass strings. GHS makes Ken Smith rounds bass strings, I think. They fell like flats but sound better. Great on my fretless.

Hi Sean. As a bass player I use a compressor when playing with a drummer and guitarist so I can push my sound without blowing my speakers. Something to think about. I also use a eq pedal to shape my sound after the compressor squashes it. Not a must have but useful. I will not gig without these...

Do your self a favor and get a btb used ibanez. Its sounds so much fuller than that squire. It makes a great first bass if you like thick bass and you'll feel more confident. I own them both as well as many others.

TI Jazz strings (rounds and flats) have red silk. = This is what I saw in another tread. so far I have read my self that they have silk but they did not say the what color was on the site I was on. I will do more research and report back latter.
