Need deep bass strings for p bass.

Deep roundwounds, not flats, no brights. Tempted by squeeze, is the sound I'm going for. I've tried DAddarios not deep enough. Please help, no treble.

    Give me some string suggestions!

You will love GHS pressure wound bass strings. GHS makes Ken Smith rounds bass strings, I think. They fell like flats but sound better. Great on my fretless.

Essential Gigging Gear - From Novice to Pro

Hi Sean. As a bass player I use a compressor when playing with a drummer and guitarist so I can push my sound without blowing my speakers. Something to think about. I also use a eq pedal to shape my sound after the compressor squashes it. Not a must have but useful. I will not gig without these...

As a beginner, does it makes sense to own more than one bass?

Do your self a favor and get a btb used ibanez. Its sounds so much fuller than that squire. It makes a great first bass if you like thick bass and you'll feel more confident. I own them both as well as many others.

Are you a one bass for all guy or...?

I play up to fore. If I'm playing a song that sounds better with this bass then that's it . I have a american deluxe p/h with rounds and a american standard p with flats for another sound. My tobis dose good for some songs, while my peavey for other songs. So with me the song I'm playing makes...

Swapping out pickups in a Fender American Deluxe P

Hello guys... I have a American D p bass 06 That I bought from Norm Stockton The bass player on the Gk amp site. He upgraded the preamps and pickups with active barts and it sounds and direct records great. I took it to guitar center to do a side by side to compare it with a American D P (not...

    Wood and sound.

Woods are everything. There is a big difference between Ash, Alder, Walnut, maple etc... Walnut is a bright tone vs maple is a muddy like tone. I have all the above. My music man is my ash slapper some what bright but, my Fender usa deluxe alder is my vintage tone fingering classic sound bass. I...

T-I Super Alloy = Red on the Tuner End only... Slapinfunk said. Does anyone know if Warwick Red Label have red silk on them? or- maybe I just really like old dead strings.....? They may have boiled them as well? My red silk bass strings that I would love to know what they are, are old...

    help ID these strings?

Hey! I just got a bass this week used with the same looking stings and I have no ideal what they are but they sound so good. The are a bit dry sounding (that might be do to age), they are flexible in feeling. I'm thinking GHS, roto, Thomastik Infeld Superalloy IN345, or D'Addario but the red...
