Whatever it is, it's likely got caulk all around the controls and pickguard in an effort to keep sweat from rendering it unplayable (much like Jason Newsted's sweatproofed Sadowskys).

Correct, and I edited my post for clarity: I do not intend to install anything other than a 6AS6 in the Tubedrve.

Greathammer incoming, my go-to drive is a Rusty Box but I find that I need to run it with a crossover pedal to keep the low-end solid. Looking forward to A/B'ing these!

Thanks @Gorilla Monsoon, I realize that the 6AS6 is a "radio-era" tube that is inexpensive, I just want an excuse to tuberoll this thing (like I do with all of my tube gear). :roflmao: Oh and I think that this would look cool on a t-shirt
