Well, I'm a solo bassist... But if I ever go live, I'll be needing a drummer and then I wan't be a solo bassist. Althought some songs I wrote are drummerless, so in those songs I'm solo bassist. So... Go ahead!

So, I bought a pedal... It took me over a year to choose this. Initialy, I was pretty not sure what do I need, and do I need anything at all. Then the choice narrowed to reverb effect. But which pedal? A long long time I was for EHX Oceans 11 and its shimmer verb. But then I got to OBNE...

Although I vote as "kind of", they are not really. But I did play classical guitar. And some techniques I did managed to incorporate into my bass playing, but all because of it's my own songwriting material. In reality, things might be a bit different. Anyway, knowing more can't hurt. :D

Funny thing - I'm doing same research. Right now I'm all over youtube and I'm about to conclude that I don't need one. :roflmao: But it is fun to see and learn what those things can do. Got me back to my teens when I was doodling with my Zoom 505II. :D

The only negative side of a fanned frets that I found is a difficult palm mutting of all strings while playing a chords with a pick. I needed that for an intro of one song, and that angle is just hard to beat in this situation. But solution is: instead of palm mutting, it will be peace of foam...
