I do something similar. I have one 5 string, and one 4 string on a dual stand. Probably swap one or the other every couple of weeks.

I’ve been entertaining the idea of finding a cheap MIM Fender Jazz and putting in a couple of MM style pups in place of the Jazz pups. Obvious routing needs and a completely new pre-amp with a selector switch like my Stingray 4HH. Anyone done anything like that?

Hate to bump this thread up again, but got a line on an 1810 and this thread has been incredibly informative. Plan to run my Fender Super Bassman through it!
