    Weird "woofiness" on B string

    This phenomenon has happened on every 5 string I’ve had that was 34” scale length. It doesn’t happen with my Dingwall or my Lakland. I’m hoping my new Yamaha will buck that trend.

    That’s what sold me too. For all the pedals I’d use, I’d easily spend just as much. Also, this way I can experiment with different amps and effects and never buy more pedals. Line 6 does a great job adding new stuff with firmware updates periodically.

    I’m absolutely pro 5! That being said, you CAN in fact play on a 4 what you can on a 5 if strung BEAD.

    I use TI flats, so I never change my strings. If you use rounds, it really just depends on your personal preferences. If you’re questioning how they sound or feel, I’d change them.

    I use an ABZ in church almost exclusively (prior to that was a Combustion) with a Darkglass pre. I did swap out the neck for a P-tone pickup. My sweet spot is to bump the low mids and bass a bit. You can bypass and play in passive but then you lose any tone controls.

    Dingwall can for sure make FDV, P-Tone, etc pickups in the square shells. You simply have to email them and they will wind them for you. I’m currently having a P- Tone made for my ABZ as we speak.

    Show me your compact pedalboard setup

    My board is just an HX Stomp going into a JDI (mainly to have a fallback on hand IF the HX craps out during a a set). I have to say...the HX is a game changer!
