Thanks for the input, everyone. The strings on it are GHS bass boomers. I will look into the Kalliums. If there was someone local I trusted to do a better setup than me, I would have them do it. I'll have to take a look at it.

I have a Schecter Studio 8. I would play it more, but it is very high effort. Is this something a good setup might fix, or is it just the nature of an 8 string?

I know this has been covered a dozen times at least... I went to change the tube in my Finally (from the 12ax7 to a 12au7). I got the old tube out, but putting in the new tube I pushed down on the top of the tube and broke the tip off. Clearly not the right way to do that. What's the right...

I also use the purple Tortex 1.14mm pick. I've been using it for more than 20 years. I play with a pick probably 98% of the time. Also use it for guitar.
