I have a Epiphone EJ-200. It's a "jumbo style" and I payed around 400$ for it new. Spruce top, maple body, maple neck. Sounds very good IMO, you should try one of these.

I suspect your cat does drugs :) Joking aside, no, I wouldn't underestimate nicotine either. It's just that, after almost 15 years of smoking, I was expecting worse "withdrawal symptoms" :) Instead, I found myself rather missing something to suck on every time I was reviewing server logs :)...

I don't know which is stronger, the "addiction" or the habit? Aren't we giving nicotine too much credit? :) I was somehow surprised to see that, after I quit, I had only 2 "craving episodes" in the next couple of weeks, but I kinda missed the gestures almost every day, for the next few months...

Aaah, those pictures... it's been a while since we have them, too. The only effect I've perceived is that sometimes people are jokingly asking for the packs with "cancer" instead of the ones with "impotence". There may be a few which pay attention to them but, IMHO the vast majority ignores...

How many turns each string has on the tuning post? Three should be enough - if you have turns overlapping each other, then this is probably the cause for the tuning drop.

I have a set of Fender "new style" flats with that green silk, but at both ends of the strings. Maybe yours are also Fender, but possibly old style, I can't really tell for sure.

First Tom Waits record that I've listened was The Black Rider - got hooked instantly :) And YES, his VH-1 Story Tellers was awesome. Quite a fella.
