Thanks. I'll try it out tonight. I had read that same suggestion somewhere in one of the many threads on this but for some reason it didn't compute to me that I could just try it out because it's easily undone, which of course is the beauty of the idea.

Doesn't that tend to make it tip forward? I'm under that impression from the threads I've read here and it does seem likely that would happen. But that hasn't been your experience?

Just to tag that real quick - it's highly likely I'll move the button. I tested it out with the strap tied to the bass right there at the 15th/16th fret and I found the way the bass sat to be to my liking. :)
