Holy smokes! I just pulled the pickguard on the Epi NR and damn does it look sharp!

I'm trying to figure out if I should just make an exact copy of the old PG that's all warped and doesn't lay flat any longer or if I should do it in black since I have that material already or to go in a different direction altogether.

It's nice to see they did a full sunburst all over, unlike on some Fenders where they don't do the burst under the PG...

Also that chromed out Goth looks pretty sweet as well.

You most likely could use it. It's really no harm done. What you could do before even installing it, measure the height of the lowered saddles, then measure the bass neck heel & you should get the pocket depth. If the MIK bird pocket depth is corret (or relatively close), go for it. Hope this helps.

I dont get what you wanna tell me. The saddles/point where the strings lay on them is higher off the body than on my fender or my pro... i fear if i put on a flush mount bridge my strings might lay on the last fret. The bridge on my pro is much lower than the 3 point on my mik bolt on

Thanks, Michael. I love my chromed out Goth. I play it more than any of my other basses because it has the D- tuner and the best set up I've done on any of my basses. It is a pleasure to play and I don't worry about it because my all in cost is under $300!

That burst looks nice on your NR 5er Larry. I've had a couple of the NR bursts over the years and the burst was more yellow looking and wasn't as pretty IMO. You can't really tell in this shot but this burst seemed very yellow in person.

But I took care of that

Hey everybody!
New to bass and new to Tbird (proof of life below), but loving it.
I'm still learning the instrument, but so far I think I like the tone and bridge pickup at 10 and the neck at 0 best.

I have a strap question.
I haven't moved the strap button yet and have bought a couple of straps to see how they handle the neck dive - a Levy's and a Mono Betty.
I'm only going to keep one of them.

Looking at the area behind the neck I would relocate to and it's a tight space.

Does that location really require a strap with a narrow end?

Just to tag that real quick - it's highly likely I'll move the button.
I tested it out with the strap tied to the bass right there at the 15th/16th fret and I found the way the bass sat to be to my liking.

You could other move the strap button to the upper foremost neck screw (depending on the screw and strap button you should be able to thread the neck screw through the strap button), or you could just drill an ekstra hole through the neckplate for the strap button - both works perfectly to help eliminate the neck dive...

Doesn't that tend to make it tip forward?
I'm under that impression from the threads I've read here and it does seem likely that would happen.

Nice 'Birds!!

Here is my Classic IV Pro in Alpine White, it has DR Strings 'Black Beauties', Graph Tec Nut, Hipshot Supertone Bridge, Gibson truss rod cover w/White logo and Black Numberless Speedknobs. I have a set of Hipshot Ultralite tuners on the way as well then I think it's done. This Bass is a real player, just awesome IMO!!

I have posted this picture a bunch of times, but this is my Sunburst T-Bird which came from the factory with the strap button on the neck plate. No diving.

Mine tips forward with the strap button on the neck plate. I'm pondering a couple fixes for that. Luckily, I have a cheap beater bird to test these changes on, rather than hacking up my new one.

Yes, it does tilt slightly forward, but I don't consider this a big problem...

I personally like to have both a strap button at the neck heel position and at the upper bout - This gives me different options depending on whatever strap I decide to use for gigs or rehearsals...

I'm thinking about putting it on the back side of the upper bout I've got one in the traditional position on my Goth right now, and its still divey there. If I put it on the back, can I split the difference and solve tipping as well as dipping?
