View attachment 636508
I remember a conversation we all had a while back in which I stated I didnt really care for the Gibson SG. Well since then I have discovered it was made in Black as well and I kimda liked what I saw. Now, i found one in Mahogany:woot:. THIS ONE I SAY SHWING!drool

And its at reverb for under agrand

That sir, looks like an EB0

I've been thinking about buying an Epiphione Classic IV in Alpine White for quite some time...just missed a NOS one for $389.
Yesterday, I saw a really nice Thunderbird Pro IV for $250, supposedly perfect condition other than scratched up pickguard.

Who thinks I should jump on it and just get the Classic later on?
Epiphone isn't making them in this color any longer (same with trans black) the sunburst is much darker now, more traditional.

Grab it! If I had the available funds, I'd grab it in a heartbeat! I've been GAS-ing for one of those for a while now.

thanks for the replies!

I have been trying to find an epi classic pro .. but it hasn't been easy due to the whole living in Brazil thing...

however, I found this: Gibson Thunderbird 1990 Burst | Reverb

why is this from the 90s so much cheaper than the others.. do the tbirds have specific eras where they were "better" and others where they weren't as good?

what about this nikki sixx sig? Used Gibson Nikki Sixx Signature Thunderbird Bass 2012 | Reverb

or the studio tbirds? Gibson Thunderbird Studio Bass 2007 | Reverb

Studios are rare-ish...but don't pay more for that than a standard bird..

Sweet!

Would you like me to add you to the club roster?

Nice 'Birds!!

Here is my Classic IV Pro in Alpine White, it has DR Strings 'Black Beauties', Graph Tec Nut, Hipshot Supertone Bridge, Gibson truss rod cover w/White logo and Black Numberless Speedknobs. I have a set of Hipshot Ultralite tuners on the way as well then I think it's done. This Bass is a real player, just awesome IMO!!

Shes here!

After pretty scrutinizing this bass it appears everything that lioked like scratches is all finger prints and a few smudges. Easily taken care of with a tiny bit of cleaner and elbow grease.

The worst part is the frets. Frets will need to be scrubed with a brillow. And there is tape residue on som of the fret board. Cleaning that right now, lemon oul is a good thing.

Basically this is a beautiful bass that needed just a little tlc. I think I may have stolen it, somebody better call the cops. :smug:

Anyone have a Reunion Blues Continjust sitting around?

I just bought this slightly roughed up 2008 standard from a guy that was in Puddle of Mudd for some touring, came with the original case. I paid $700 for this one and just sent Pat Wilkins who is local to me a email about a refin cost. I dont mind the wear I kinda like it just wanted a unique color. I think the guy carved a notch into the neck thru part of the body for a thumbrest.

so here are some actual pics... the pro has some electronic issues (bass pot is f*cked, if I turn it the signal comes and goes.... ) but is a nice overall bass... the white one is a limited MIK bird that has been trashed. chipped paint, additional screw holes due to moved strap pins (still bad location...) and so on... so I'm not sure which one will be modified to be my new main bass next to my P.

My goal: Thunderbird II, surf greenish colour, single pickup, all passive, chrome hardwar... but I hat this Gibson 3 Point ******* Bridge... but that one is pretty high. can I put a badass II/Gotoh/Whatever on the limited?

1995, 5 string Epi Thunderbird NR. It was the P/J set up and extra string that got me interested. This bass is better than I expected and I couldn't be happier about adding it to the "flock".

I'll put up more pics at a later time and look for recommendations to remedy some weirdness on the side markers that weren't pictured for the sale nor was it disclosed by the seller. Overall I'm very happy with its condition but the marker nonsense has to be addressed.
