IMO the black PG should be a factory option, I really love the look.
The way the burst blends into the PG makes the logo pop better, and instead of drawing your attention away from the wood and plys it brings everything together.
Just looks classy and bad ass at the same time drool

That's a pretty cool tip with the pencil... Never would have thought of that.

If ever you get a new nut & want to tackle the task yourself, it's essential you have a half pencil to mark teh fret height!!

I went to the local big box retailer to check on the status of my Gibson 335 Studio on order and decided to have a go at the Epiphone Thunderbird Pro on the wall ($659.99 CAD tag) and when I had a look over the thing, I discovered this:

Other than the far wider and thinner neck than my 2012 Gibson Thunderbird, it felt pretty good to play and sounded pretty good with the active Epiphone pickups. But the finish stuff leaves a bit to be desired. You guys have any gapping like that on your input jacks?

I know on my guitars & basses (not birds) there's no gap between body & jack plate. I guess because of how to football jack is with only 2 screws holding it, it's more susceptible to having gap between it & the body.

I have a plan to get a strap prototyped at work because I don't want to pay retail for another strap, but also because I think I can make a bad ass strap and have it retail at a decent price. The sticking point is the attachment points. Its looking like it'll borrow the DiMarzio Straplok system because we already have the parts in stock. Mine will be Multicam, but it'll be doable in black too. Hopefully have something to show ya within the next couple months, production time permitting.

Finally got my Epi Limited Edition in Pelham Blue...

It was well worth the wait and extra costs having it shipped from the U.S.

It's in mint condition as it left the factory with absolutely no signs of wear whatsoever - Even still has the protective film on the PG, cavity panel and all 4 tuners. Also has the original factory strings and is perfectly intonated - Just need an adjustment of the action, which is a bit high for my liking.

The colour is simply gorgeous and will make a perfect match for my Limited Edition in Metallic Red!

So as promised, here's some pics (sorry about the quality)

She's definitely got some play wear, but it's in decent shape. Good neck, minimal fretboard wear, very few dents.
Only have 2 gripes. 1) it has a scratchy static sound when plugged in...think like the sound of a vinyl LP thats been well played, traced it down to a bad solder joint that will need to be repaired, not a big deal at all, and 2) the TRC is a little wavy. Actually really surprised how thin it is. Gotta be 1/2 the thickness of the ones on my other birds, epi's included.

There has to be something said about a well worn 'Bird as I'm constantly "being careful" with mine, I could probably relax with one that has been played and not worried about cosmetically as much.

The worst thing about Low End is that the shop is open the same days I'm at work. The Low End is about an hour and a half south of me. I've only been able to get there once, but it's worth the drive. He's got a killer collection of other basses for sale, but the Low End stuff is the real highlight to me. He does player's basses that play awesome and sound killer. I played a seafoam green 8 string TBird that was just amazing. They're not cheap, but they are amazing basses for the investment. The Low End is legit.
