Thunderbird Club

I keep looking at my 2012 and thinking it would look cool with a black pickguard with a gold logo to match the black and gold "Gibson" on the truss rod cover, but then I like the classic w/b/w with black bird pickguard that's on there. That's what they look like. @Larry V didn't you have one like that? Black with gold?

Not just me, but Chris(Trebeless) as well!

Would be cool to see this in the front yard, I'm assuming you have to keep a distance? You have some nasty spiders and snakes that would keep me paranoid though! ;)

Yes, the females and young ones generally won't let you get too close. Sometimes in the heat of the day you will wander across one of the big boys dozing under a bush or in the shade of a tree and not notice he is there and you can get quite a start. These guys appear to be pretty placid fortunately and we haven't had any incidents with them. But we do try and keep our distance because they are so big.
Australians generally have a healthy respect for snakes- I think I read we have 9 of the 10 deadliest species of land snakes in the world, We have 5 of those in the area in which I live.

Its just a stock Epi Classic Pro. Nothing special but I absolutely love it. Feels and sounds amazing. But if you still want pics I will take some soon and upload them.

There is an unwritten rule here........ No pics, No bass. I don't want to come off wrong tho, we're a pretty friendly bunch and I'll be very happy to add you to the club roster. I always like to encourage questions, and your show pics or videos.

Thanks!

Here's a better pic so you can see the gold top hats too. View attachment 631355

I believe they are called reflector knobs, Larry... Those are my absolutely favourite control knobs, which i put on all my guitars/basses nowadays...

I used to be a big fan of black/chrome metal dome knobs, and have them on all my instruments, but found the reflector knobs have a cool "vintage" vibe the dome knobs don't have, which tend to go well with the Thunderbird look.

I like their vintage appeal as well.

Not TBird related, but I thought you guys might enjoy some pics I took just now of the wild life that spends most of their time on my front lawn. Have done for quite some months now. These pics are taken about 20 feet from my front door. Sometimes when it rains some of them come up and shelter under the front portico.
There are eight (plus one in the pouch by the look of one of the ladies) in this group- see second pic, including three males that stand almost 6 feet tall when upright. The one on his back in the third pic is fine, he is just having a roll in the soft grass.

I like speed knobs & bell knobs (not the reflectors just the solid bell). Although it depends on the bass/guitar i have, for fender i love Chrome domes on everything except strats, i like their knobs. For gibson, either speed or solid bell.
