I agree with this. I was just getting started with the bass guitar right around the time that "Ten" came out (I had played upright for about 5 years prior). I discovered STP not long after. Both Ament and DeLeo are great bassists, and I'm glad that they had an influence on my playing early on.

Really enjoyed seeing them on SNL. As previously stated, that talent really trumped all the 'shiny glittery' stuff that generally gets the airplay.
