I own a Cort Artisan with a wenge neck. It was the first bass I bought in this age (I played in my teens, and picked up bass again 20ish years later). I got it slightly used at less than half of new, and was not sure of the quality.

Now, after some years, testing basses in shops and buying a couple, I tell you this was almost perfect. The light 2+2 head and the smooth, unfinished wenge neck is really good. I love it. I once tried a $$$ Warwick with wenge neck, and that is probably the only bass that has felt slightly better.

So I voted Warwick... But the neck must be wenge. ;)

Edit: If I had a second choice I guess it would be a Fender jazz. Most of the basses I have liked derive from that in some way.

I'm going with Warwick Corvette. I don't have any of the others shown, but I prefer it over the other ones I have (G&L L1000, BC Rich Mockingbird, Carvin LB20). I just love the Warwick sound and I don't care if it doesn't fit the genre of whatever music I'm playing.

Out of the basses listed I fall into the Fender Am. Std. Jazz Bass, but in reality I own and play a Reggie Hamilton Std. Jazz. It offers a J pickup at the bridge and P pickup at the neck, a drop-D tuner and an active/passive switch. I've come to realize it's the perfect bass for me. :hyper:
