I have the exact same setup as John M Ewers and used a five string P style bass for a couple of years at high volume shows and those cabs handed the B string really well. It was defined yet stout and rounded. And several other nebulous bass centric adjectives, too.

I have two identical cabs I really like. They are 4 ohm cabs. The only amp that I have that can go to 2 ohms is a Quilter BB800 and the advice on their site is not to run it at high volume with a 2 ohm load. So should I get another Quilter and run a stereo or biamp set up? Thanks for any...

Is there a bass multi effects unit that has an easy to set unity gain for all effects presets so that speakers aren't blown just by accidentally activating the wrong patch? Any wisdom here on this?

An SoB below a Goliath Jr III was my main rig for many moons. I like the tone with a 4, but with a 5 the 2x10 could get farty. The Son of Bertha always sounded very smooth, though, and pretty fast in response.
