Hey TB,

I’m in the market for a new lightweight cab and the Milkman sound 300w 1x12 Neo Celestion loaded cab has really caught my eye aesthetically.

Anyone out there have any experience with this particular cab? I can’t seem to find much detail on these so here we are.

  • I have had this rig for little over a month. The speakers are now Eminence in their latest production. I like the sound, but keep in mind I’m a dinosaur with perhaps a different frame of reference than you. It handles the low “E” capably. I like the light weight of the cabs!

@John M Ewers that's a sweet looking rig! I stumbled upon it on Musician's Friend website and am intrigued. If you have tried it with a 5-stringer, how well does it handle a low B? Does it have a fan and if so, how loud is the fan? If I bought it, I would probably only need one cab.

I’m not much help, as I have not used a five-string with it. There is no fan. To my ears it has a great sound. I’m an old guy, and my frame of reference may not be the same as yours. I have used it with my Gallien-Krueger CX-210 and CX-115 cabs with excellent results. I am completely satisfied with this rig. A set of Studioslips clamshell covers are a must with this kind of investment. (I am NOT a paid endorser.)

Thank you sir.

I’ve played this combo at a shop before. The circuit is based off of a fender bassman. It sounds really nice and with a nice dollup of tubey goodness. It definitely got that vintage vibe going on.

I have the exact same setup as John M Ewers and used a five string P style bass for a couple of years at high volume shows and those cabs handed the B string really well. It was defined yet stout and rounded. And several other nebulous bass centric adjectives, too.
