New Classic Vibe Basses really that bad?

I've had both Chinese and Indonesian CVs, and had pretty good luck with both. The original Chinese CVs had a more substantial feel about them, but I wonder how much of that was in my head. I'm currently using a 70's Sea Foam Green CV that gets more playing time than my American Standard, so I...

    Musical terms that I dislike…

For the most part I don't really have any pet peave words in music. I guess I think it's supposed to be fun, so whatever you say is cool with me. However, I will admit to looking a little strangely at open mic jammers who refer to the last open mic they went to as a gig, or the three songs they...

NBD: A rare Fender P bass and advice needed

The Nordstrand 51 P side-by-side humbucker is great.

Seems like most instruments have "the song"...so what is it for the bass?

Many in many genres, couple of my favorites: My Girl- Motown Got The Time- New Wave, Joe Jackson Longview- 90's Punk Blood and Roses- Smithereens.

    Am I strange?

I think you're justified for being pissed, and for letting him know that you're pissed. Personally I wouldn't have told him to never talk to me again because friends sometimes do inconsiderate/stupid things, and given time wounds can heal.

Which head? Aguilar AG 700 or Blackstar U700 Elite? or something else?

Why not the Bergantino B/Amp. I got the opportunity to play one where we opened for a friend's band. He had just bought the full Bergantino rig. Pretty amazing sounding setup.

Balanced line out to PA vs Direct Out

There is a lineout level on the control plate of most Markbass amps. Not being familiar with the amp, You may just not have turned it up

Precisions and Jazzes are cool. Rics and Rays are rad

They also sound great. The Magnum II had a built in graphic eq. Very weird but cool.

What was the first so called "Bass" you owned

Japanese Pan Jazz copy, in pieces. Plywood body, chunky neck, two saddle bridge, and cheesy tuners. Upgraded the parts, but eventually traded it and some cash on a '61 Stack-knob. One of my wiser moves.

Stripes developing on bass neck overtime?

As you play the bass it is slowly buffing the neck finish. The tiger stripe that is there becomes more noticeable.

    Fired, and relieved.

No, but I'll consider it next time.

    Fired, and relieved.

I was let go by the cover and I was asked to join about 8 months ago. While I'm a little upset by what I consider a tremendously unprofessional way of canning me, I have to be honest that I am feeling a great deal of relief. When things become toxic it's best to be out.
