Ancient thread, but comparing a Skyline to a custom-shop Bacchus is kind of silly. The differences might be hard to note in a picture. Having owned both Skyline and US model Laklands, the high end Bacchus stuff is easily as good as a US Lakland, more like a Sadowskly Metro or even New York...

Dredging up an ancient thread, but I'm very curious to know---I bought an immaculate used Bacchus '62 fretless, just like their Jaco "signature" but in LPB metallic w/matching headstock. The guy I bought it from in Japan seemed very knowledgeable about Bacchuses (Bacchi?), but wasn't sure of...

I scored a fretless vintage series 62 J Basses a few months ago and I'm simply over the moon with this bass. Agreed that it would be a great bargain at even 2x what it set me back. The nitro finish is a joy to play and see, too.

If you like Jaco's work on Hejira, you'll love what he did on JM's live 'Shadows and Light'. Some of my fave Jaco.

I agree, need$ - one of the nicest variations on the classic F style I've yet seen. Did they stay with the lacquer, I hope? BTW, where'd you score your beauty from?

Apparently it already is - the cat who sold it to me said they've already implemented changes to the vintage line because of the issues one might expect from FMIM's lawyers. It does indeed sound great. It shipped with an old-ish set of flats, and I like it so much I'm really torn about...

That's only because there are so many "frets"! A design necessity, if the way high notes are to be reached - I dig it.
