    Your math is fine, except that you should divide the spacing at the bridge (2 9/16") by 4, since there are four spaces between the strings. That brings the string to string spacing to a little over 16mm.

    You can get rosewood veneers from LMI or Woodcraft. Those should match pretty close. Dyed veneers are typically dyed all the way through, so you wouldn't have to worry about sanding through the color.

    What frequencies are you adjusting with your EQ and HP filters? The 12th fret on the G string is G3, which is right around 200hz, so if your pulling down treble frequencies you're probably not cutting the fundamentals of the notes that are too loud.
