    Mesa bass amps

I'm playing similar material through a D800+ with a Subway 115 and Subway 210. If I were to limit my cabinets to one, it would probably be the 115. Any of the Mesa Boogie heads you’re considering should work out.

What bass do I need to add to be in a "dad" (or "granddad") band?

I own all the basses you listed above (except for the Mitchell), and I’d recommend either a Precision or Jazz bass for this kind of band—both are classics and work well. Personally, I’d use both and suggest you go with whichever one you enjoy playing the most.

    Learning new tunes -need input

Learning signature riffs and adding your own is common practice. My only caution is don't avoid learning a part just because you think it's too difficult. Even if you can't work it out perfectly, you're playing and knowledge will improve significantly in time.

    Do you use a wireless?

Same here. I've never had issues and usually stand 8-10 feet from my rig.

Would you book a gig in a place you wouldn't go to?

I've played biker bars and found the patrons to be pretty much same as at other bars. That said, I wouldn’t go to one otherwise as they attract a certain culture (lifestyle) that isn’t my cup of tea.

First gig with D800+ and SW15

I have a D800+ with 1-15" and 2-10" Subway cabinets. It's rare that I must use both except outdoors. I've used either at indoor venues without issues. When playing indoors, I place my cabinet in a corner of the stage, close to the back wall. Outside that is not an option.I have a D800+ with...

    Intrusion?

Avoiding conflict can be more harmful than expressing your opinions. Speak calmly, firmly, and clearly. Allowing non-band members to perform during or between a band’s sets is unacceptable, as it undermines the band’s reputation and deprives the audience of a proper break. On the positive side...

    AI in music

My band mates and I participated in a game last week that involved creating lyrics from random storylines and unrelated subjects. Interestingly, AI generated coherent lyrics despite the nonsensical prompts. I have very mixed feelings.

What is your favorite debut album from this list?

    Easy, Led Zeppelin.

This is my approach also. It works.

Where/How do You Store Your Cases?

    I need this desperately.

    Passive or Active?

I love my Stingray Special, but I generally prefer my four passive basses. I can get 90% of the tones I desire without needing batteries or a bass EQ. Our band plays at clubs and festivals, and I use either or both depending on my mood.

    NBD Fender Pro II Jazz

That was my original plan but the mint pickguard is growing on me. Time will tell.

    NBD Fender Pro II Jazz

This black beauty arrived yesterday, and I'm enjoying it. Although I've played bass for many years, this is my first jazz.
