Mark Hoppus signature bass WITH MusicMan Pickup?

the main thing is to wire the MM pu in series for hottest output, this will balance with the P pu.

Mark Hoppus signature bass WITH MusicMan Pickup?

this: sounds amazing. great balance between the 2 pickups. the MM pickup is in the stingray position. I put a stingray and a P next to each other with bridge and nut aligned and figured that out. this bass is amazing. Squier body and P pu, nordstrand MM wired in series, G&L bridge. Chandler neck...

Best shortscale flats (or half rounds) for Fender Mustang?

DR long scale flats work fine on my short scale Squier Jaguar. I just cut off most of the wound silk part and strung the bass up. no problem. also, on my P bass string thru bridge the DR's work fine, no cracking or breakage. great sounding strings on my shorty.

Dan Lakin Interview w/ clip of new basses

I have a D Lakin P. I would say that it blows the Skyline out if the water. My current theory is that the graphite bars in the neck are what makes the difference. Personally, I live what these do for a bass, I feel that graphite bars give a more centered fundamental pitch to each note on a bass...

    Advantage of string-through?

I think it makes a difference because the string is anchored in the wood, so that all that tension is pulling on ferrules anchored in 1-1/2 inches of wood, rather than pulling on 3-5 screws. IMHO.

DLB (Dan Lakin Basses) Coming Soon!

I played the P and the J Lakins. Incredible!!!! the graphite rods in the neck pushed them to the next level. I want a P. bad. nice balance with no neck dive.

Taras Prodaniuk playing a D Lakin w/ Richard Thompson

I recently played the P and J that Ed Friedland has on hand, they were nothing short of amazing, the graphite rods in the necks take them to the next level, super-lively and even all over the neck. I'm getting a P, gotta have it.

Dan Lakin Interview w/ clip of new basses

no neck dive on the one I played. WAY better than any Skyline I ever played (D Lakins have graphite rods in the neck), and as good as the American Laklands that I played. this thing rocks.

Dan Lakin Interview w/ clip of new basses

I played the candy apple red P that Ed Friedland has at the moment. one of the best P's I've ever played. super-lively. perfect neck shape, like a slightly smaller early 60's C shape. amazing instrument, light, and well-balanced.

    Squier Precision 5-String Club

this is my solution. Nordstrand MM pickup wired in series for hot output, nordstrand big split in P position. the stock pickups were a four string J set, weak signal from B and G strings. Fender was obviously going as cheap as possible on that one.
