Thanks everyone for the replies. I haven’t been able to see the bass yet. Hopefully tomorrow. I will measure the string length and check and inquire about the repairs. But yes, if it sounds good and feels solid I will buy it.

I’m going to look at this bass tonight. I only know it’s a carved German bass made between 1910 and 1930. It’s a good price for a carved bass. Any opinions or insight would be appreciated. It looks a bit rough which doesn’t bother me. Suppose to be in playing condition

I use For Score for importing charts. It’s a good app. I have a regular size iPad. I find it a bit small. I’m going to go for the larger screen when it comes time to replace it.

Actually I did consider adding a metal laminate to the back. I’m a sheet metal worker so I could have easily done it. I decided against it and put a Fender Modern players neck on it. Ended up modding the whole bass. Not much of the original bass left. Pretty happy with it though.
