Try a wick from pre '99, or a brand new one. I have a '97 Fortress One, and the neck is really nice and slim, and it's all wenge! One of the best feeling neck IMO

Ha, exactly 50/50 I love my Wicks I don't mind what necks they have on them, I have an '08 and a '97 and I love them both!

Ray's are good, but it's a different kinda growl to everything. IME you can make anything growl in fact when I went to see Cherry Poppin Daddies, his P bass growled like nothing I've ever heard.
