Seems to me that the high on the Klang would be most useful when playing with the presence filtering as mentioned. @AmazingMumford can you explain what you mean by the passive tone control? Does one of the knobs act like a tone control in passive mode? Thats pretty awesome, ill have to play with...

Just got my ABZ. So in love. Just compared to my Geddy Fender J (Which I love as well), just the string tension being the same immediately is so noticeable. Yall have some suggestions for interesting/well known settings on the Glockenklang? I know there are for the Darkglass (which I might get...

Gosh that's pretty. I was looking at custom ordering a ABZ or Z3 with a wild finish, but I had a hard time reconciling spending that much money as a not-so-good player. Probably would have anyway if I didn't find the ABZ I bought off Reverb.

Good to know. I feel like I got lucky finding this checking so many boxes, saving a bunch of months of wait time and a bit of cash! Can't wait to play it.

Welp, that's it I guess, I bought it, I'm convinced. NEW Dingwall Vintage Burst ABZ 6-String Bass, Wenge Neck, Glockenklang Pre 3x Pickups, 3x Switches | LoMax Bass & Guitar Gear Specialty | Reverb Anyone know the background on this bass? I grabbed it in case someone else was trying to slide...

Peer pressure.... :nailbiting: Maybe a question for Sheldon, but can you order the different pickups direct from Dingwall too? Or are they off the shelf parts like the preamps, and you just use the pickup shells from the installed pickups? I assume the Darkglass preamp in the Dingwalls is the...

Renting a NG demo unit from my dealer in Berkeley and I'm in love. I found essentially the exact ABZ6 I've been speccing out on Reverb (except it has the Glockenklang preamp instead of Darkglass). Wenge-wenge neck and everything. I'm wondering if I should just get the used one instead of wait...

Plucking fast notes across strings - thumb + fingers?

Wow that Wooten solo is fantastic. I specifically like the thumb plucking and that he uses his pinky for pressing down on the index finger fret down till the 5th fret, both things that seem incredibly natural to me. His thumb technique sounds so good. I'll be saving that video as inspiration...

Plucking fast notes across strings - thumb + fingers?

Hey All, Working my way through studybass lesson blocks, and I've got to a lesson where I'm wondering if there is a "correct" way or "best" (most efficient) way to play across strings. The lesson is specifically this: Octaves Exercises | Common Bass Patterns | StudyBass The C-G-Am-F...

First time Bass buyer - TRBX504 or Fender Jazz

Thanks for the replies everyone :) Buying a used Fender Jazz is within my budget assuming resale value doesn't drop, just in case I don't stick with it. I'll have to go to a store and try out a bunch.

First time Bass buyer - TRBX504 or Fender Jazz

If I were to go play both at a guitar shop, is there anything I can do as a complete beginner to tell which one I would prefer other than hitting random notes? Seems like an odd question after typing it out...

First time Bass buyer - TRBX504 or Fender Jazz

That's what I was thinking, but I'd have to go digging around for a used Fender, I don't think it would make sense to buy one new as a first time buyer. I haven't been able to find any info on this, but does the TRBX count as a Jazz bass because it has split pickups? Even if they are...

First time Bass buyer - TRBX504 or Fender Jazz

Hey everyone, I've been thinking about diving deep into music theory and playing as a hobby. I've got a bit of background playing Saxaphone. I've been a huge Rush fan since I was a kid, so I love the way Geddy plays. I also want to learn some other stuff of course, I like lots of stuff from...
