I wonder if that's an EMG preamp in that one? It looks like it has Spector knobs.
So I made a quick test run today for a thumb rest (its more a finger stop though! If I don't have something to catch my fingers for fast runs I'm toast) Worked out pretty good! Found the screws were long enough to use for it
Like it flatter than the pickup edges give you?
Cool idea, I like that! 1/8” acrylic?

Congrats on your first Dingwall! That sure is a beauty, and yeah, that Ducati White is a very regal and elegant color, it is my personal favorite Dingwall finish.View attachment 3860385
As of today I can officially join the club. Just came today, and HOLY COW is this an incredible instrument. I mean, you all know that already. I went with the NG2 out of budgetary reasons so no need for any wiring mods.
Beyond all the typical things you could say about this bass, I just want to say a word about the COLOR. I've not seen a fair representation of Ducati Matte White online, in person it's very distinctive, sort of eggshelly but also super creamy and utterly gorgeous.
Sounds utterly incredible through my Kemper, I have some Darkglass profiles and the Dingglass sound is just incredible. It's my first five-string ever so it'll take a little getting used to but honestly, that low B is so clear it sounds like the E-string on my old Jazz, which I've instantly decided to sell because I'm pretty much never going to touch it again. Big props to Sheldon for putting out such an incredible, yet accessible, instrument.

As an old-time 4-string player myself, I definitely recommend some diligent practice getting used to the floating thumb technique. It really is highly advantageous for many reasons, so check out some YouTube videos on the subject if you are not already familiar with the technique. It really helps in the transition from 4 to 5 or more strings.
Enjoy!!
I find the glockenklang to be very....obvious(?) Put flat and adjust to suite. When I was in a screaming loud metal band I ran my 3x on the B/M in series setting with the 3 band glock somewhat flat except boosted to 7(?) on the mids. That was pushing through an SVT4pro and 810.Just got my ABZ. So in love.
Just compared to my Geddy Fender J (Which I love as well), just the string tension being the same immediately is so noticeable.
Yall have some suggestions for interesting/well known settings on the Glockenklang? I know there are for the Darkglass (which I might get and swap in myself as well... Love that sound).
Congrats!! AMAZING BASS AND SELLER! Welcome to the Dingwall Addiction Club.NDD, in case anyone was curious where this one ended up.

The first Canadian born I've owned. It's fantastic. Actually received it Monday. When I was carrying the box out of the post office, I just about didn't believe there was a bass inside, it just seemed so light.
Despite my cold feet, the seller was great to deal with. Thanks RussT!
