That thing is sweet! (always been a closet P guy)I’ve never been a P guy until this year. I don’t really dig the body shape and definitely not a traditional P neck.OMG Nate! You just made the "P" hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. That thing is sweet! (always been a closet P guy)

Funny you say that. I have a masterbuilt thumb with wenge neck that I got before my first Dingwall. I agree the neck on that bass is incredible. But I love the pickup options, tones, and tight B string on my Dingwall, but with small hands the thicker more shouldered neck isn't as comfortable.
That's what lead me to the Z3 that will be here this week. I'm really thinking it will be the best of both worlds with the wenge neck. I heard a number of playing samples with it and the wenge definitely imparts some of that tone you get from the Thumbs. I can let you know how the Z3 neck compares after I get it Wednesday.

this is, of course, not traditional. its funking awesome!!!!
editnot mine on the left)
Super nice J. I love these with the alder neck and body!!!I'm gonna let a Super J 5 go if anyone is interested.
I think 3500.00 would be a reasonable price
We could say they are related. Siblings perhaps. It’s every bit the same bass as mine short the switches.Almost looks like a slice of your bass with the leftover paint. Very similar in that regard.
If you ever sell that one on the left...
I’d love that Fretless!!!I don’t know that I could list off what I want to try......I do padalka is top of my try list.
I’m not even sure that I have a second fav from Dingwalls. I’ll soon know if Spector takes that spot but
I really appreciated the bongo 6 I had for a short period. Same as the roscoe. I dunno.
Zs are trump hey Phil....
not trying to push you any which way or anything....

And a SUPER weird thing that happened.....in follow up
I went to put some Dingwall nickels on the P last night and the B was TOO LONG(??). I should have caught on sooner as it was red flagging but being tired I didn’t clue in quick enough...
I think a longscale string snuck into this pack!!
good thing I had an old set kicking around

Anyways lesson learned.... pay better attention if it seems too long. It is too long.
Sheldon takes care of his customers. Last year I bought a four pack of SS Dingwall strings and every B string was dead. It didn't take long for Jason @ FretNation to get me four new B strings.Crap. Send your mailing address to [email protected] and we'll send out a replacement.
Not .. for .. sale !Damn .. the Z body never worked for me, because of those asymmetrical horns, but in all maple like that it almost makes that problem disappear.
Do .. not .. argh !
Much appreciated Sheldon. A pretty random occurrence I’d imagine.Crap. Send your mailing address to [email protected] and we'll send out a replacement.
Randy, between this and your pentabuzz your messing with my priorities.I'm gonna let a Super J 5 go if anyone is interested.

And I’d love to try your Diva. One of these days we should arrange a bass hang.I’d love that Fretless!!!
Buy the one on Reverb and swap the preamp if you really think it’s necessary.Renting a NG demo unit from my dealer in Berkeley and I'm in love.
I found essentially the exact ABZ6 I've been speccing out on Reverb (except it has the Glockenklang preamp instead of Darkglass). Wenge-wenge neck and everything. I'm wondering if I should just get the used one instead of wait the 15-18 months for the same but more expensive.
Thoughts?
Well at least the Penta found a new home so a bit less strain on you. Sorry NateRandy, between this and your pentabuzz your messing with my priorities.
