My favorite after Dingwall is Warwick. I've had at least one since 2001. Thumbs, Corvettes, Fortress, Katana... They're all pretty rad but the the Thumb is my favorite. I even bought my first one back from an awesome dude who bought it from me.
Something about a wenge necked Thumb feels like home. The ovankol ones are nice too, but wenge is where it's at. That's why I'm really tempted to get a wenge necked Dingwall someday.

Funny you say that. I have a masterbuilt thumb with wenge neck that I got before my first Dingwall. I agree the neck on that bass is incredible. But I love the pickup options, tones, and tight B string on my Dingwall, but with small hands the thicker more shouldered neck isn't as comfortable.
That's what lead me to the Z3 that will be here this week. I'm really thinking it will be the best of both worlds with the wenge neck. I heard a number of playing samples with it and the wenge definitely imparts some of that tone you get from the Thumbs. I can let you know how the Z3 neck compares after I get it Wednesday.

I really love my NG-3. Prior to it I owned a NG-2 but I ended up wanting the Mopar Purple, 3 pickup version. I was tempted to replace the NG-3 with an AB1 (which was awesome) but in the end I didn't want to give up the NG-3. Mine is one of the older versions with the DB switch.
Regarding other manufacturers, I have 4 go to's. Alembic, Sadowsky, Rickenbacker and Dingwall. They are all fun to play.

Mo sent me this picture yesterday and told me the Blackhole Sun burst Z3 will be shipping out today! He was incredibly fast and easy to work with. I can't wait to try out this baby...gonna be a long few days!

Just got home with this brand spanking new bad boy.
Z3 w/ reverse blackburst maple burl top. FD3V pups and a darkglass pre. This is my dream bass and I have had a boat load of basses.

Damn you guys and your awesome Z3's! I was really trying to go the rest of the year before I dropped a deposit on a Z, and YOU GUYS ARE MAKING THIS REALLY HARD!

I don't have anything other than Dingwall so the only one I can think of (its been so long) is a USA made Peavey. Might like to try a Torzal Twist, but not having done so I can't say it is a favorite.
It pretty much went like this:
Ibanez -> Peavey -> Dingwall -> only Dingwall

I don’t know that I could list off what I want to try......I do padalka is top of my try list.
I’m not even sure that I have a second fav from Dingwalls. I’ll soon know if Spector takes that spot but
I really appreciated the bongo 6 I had for a short period. Same as the roscoe. I dunno.
