    Longer term project might be to work on how you play without an amp. Are you pulling a lot of sound out of your instrument, or do you have a really light touch and are relying on the amp for most of your sound? My guess is having a stronger acoustic resonance to work with from the instrument...

    I pair a full circle with a fishman bp100. The idea of pairing the strengths of 2 pickups (and minimizing their weaknesses) has worked well for me. Good luck.

    Probably a dumb question on my amp inputs

    I use a 2 channel WW (and a 2 channel AI) for 2 pickups that I have on my upright - each channel with its own volume and eq - very useful. Maybe that was the purpose here (although I'm not familiar with the PJ stuff).

    Double Bass Speeding

    There is really not that much that can be done (as many here have already noted). When I run into this situation, I just thank my lucky stars that the drummer is rushing and not dragging. A drummer slowing down (which you also can do nothing to change) is the absolute worst thing you can encounter.
