I had a Quilter BB800 early edition. It was a fine bass head. I traded for a WD800, but the Quilter was very good as well. Lots of power and once you got used to the EQ it was reasonably versatile.

Neutrik makes 1/4 " to Speakon connectors. I don't know much about them but I've seen them on amps.

you wont regret it .. The previous posters are all correct about the great matching of the subway cabinets and heads. When you do get the D800+ ( and after you stop grinning )see if you can find somewhere that has a subway 15 in stock to try it with .. It's a real " Oh yeah, now I get it " moment.

I read every one of the posts. I came from all heavy heads and cabs and at that time that was all there was. I am now amazed at the new gear that is available . I tried and owned a lot of class D.. Markbass, Quilter, V3 Rumbles, GK ( love the MB 200 and 500's)and others. I had a Mesa 800, 800+...

I love them. I have 2 stacked. They are underrated and I think they sound very good for the money. Not made for high volume use but 2 stacked with a properly rated head is really nice and surprisingly loud.

I throw a black satin 6x6 foot square of cloth (bought when I was a young hippie as curtains ..lol ) over my entire rig after every practice, at home in storage or after gigs( when the rig is stationary for more than a day). Seems to work for me dust-wise. Our guitarist started doing it too.

Take it to a tech to check out and undo the mod(term used ironically here ), glue in a correct width of round wood dowel, patch in a circle of tolex .. voila! (or leave it in and you can play a set and run a blender on your amp for margaritas on your breaks)

Check out "Uncle Doug's Amp repairs" on Youtube . He's a very good tech with old amps. I think he's still doing challenges like that.

Where did you find the Garnet !? I'm a Winnipegger , I knew Gar Gillies( Winnipeg's own Garnet Amplification) and his gear .. They are quite difficult to find in the wild these days in working order. Very cool.
