yeah I don't have any other electric instruments within grasp of trying it out myself. My P-Bass is Olympic white with a rosewood pickguard, and I wanted to get white knobs, like that of the stratocaster.

... Can I be able to switch out the knobs on my P-Bass for other model knobs? I just like the knurled cylinders on it and would like to use some other that is a bit more appealing to my eye and doesn't stick out so much.

This kind of brings up a second question: is playing like that only for effect? I play without throwing my arm out and just stay on the strings with a pick and get a good sound and precise aim.
