    I switched out the stock roundwounds with same-sized D'Addario tape wounds. Currently tuned E/B. Loving it. Now I just need a three-string.

    What Kind of Bassist Are You?

    I would have chosen "bedroom bassist" if that choice was available as I either 1) play along with my guitarist son, or 2) play along with YouTube videos or Spotify. I was in various garage bands during the 1970s, then life got in the way and I only started playing again five years ago.

    Got it! It’s beautiful and plays great. I’m not after the Sandman sound. I just wanted a two-string bass since I play mostly on the E/A strings anyway. I will replace the round wounds with flats, but otherwise I love it. It came in a nice gig bag too.

    Phil Jones combo for low volume practice home

    I have a PJB BP-200 head and two PJB C2 cabs. For me, this is pretty much the perfect low-volume home practice rig. I also have a PJB Double Four BG-75, which I didn't think was loud enough, but might be good in an apartment or something.

    Seems like it. The Sandman 2-string is $499, whereas all the other current Eastwood "Custom Projects" range from $999 to $1899.

    The nut is my question too. Are there any flatwounds I could put on as it is? Or do I have to take it to a luthier or guitar shop to get filed?

    Nice. Love the classic Mosrite look. Reminds me of the Ventures. In fact, the Sidejack almost matches my Mosrite-like Hallmark Custom 60 guitar. Such a great design!

    Just got my first Eastwood instrument, a Sidejack Bass VI. First observations are it sounds great. Very nice build quality. Seems heavier than my other Bass VIs. This plays chords very well. The Fender is more bass-like, and the Danelectro is more twangy.

    Pros using a cheap POS?

    Meanwhile, hacks like me are playing pro guitars that are better quality than someone of our skill-level deserves to be playing. I'd sound just as mediocre on an entry level bass as I do with my expensive gear.
