I had the two strings version of this one and it was such a fun bass to play.

I had a 1 string bass !!!
It had a mop handle neck and a washtub body.
My mom was mad as hell when she found out I punched holes in her washtub.
But my jugband was awesome!

She had no right to be mad-- she sold your tools for a costume, after all.

Eastwood makes some cool looking stuff. But in my experience (3 basses; the EUB, the V and the magnum), that's all it is. Cool looking stuff.

The Rivolta's are considered pretty good tho, but I havent tried one personally.

Would be loads of fun. Some really ‘out there’ looking basses from Atlansia.

I used to work for Morphine's sound guy. He pulled the original out of the back of his van and said "Do you want to play a bass that just played in front of 30,000 people in Japan?" It was pretty cool.

Not sure how much use I'd get out of a copy, though.

It says it comes with a .105 gauge string tuned E and a gauge .085 string tuned A, but didn't Sandman tune to G or something like that for slide?

A perfect 5th for movable power chords, (not sure which tuning) a Univox Premier Scroll bass, full scale, with a divided P bass pu, one close to the neck and one bridge. The Metallica song has nothing to do with Mark, or even the comic character by he who must not be named, it's about the Western folklore character who makes children fall asleep. (Cambridge person here, saw Morphine many times, the best being outside on MassAv at the Central Squ World's Fair, now Mark Sandman Square.) He also ran it through an original EH Bassmicrosynth when they were ac powered. I highly doubt this Eastman sounds as woody n' good as Mark's...
