Car Guys, need opinion for problem Jeep with 3.7L V6 with Auto transmission.

Jeep forum is good for some info, but like all forums, tread carefully. My dodge trans had an early problem, servo and pressure modulator failed. 200 in parts and back on the road. 200,000 miles later and runs well.

    the mid-life rut?

Might try a project partner for the bikes. I turn 50 later this year and have some hard earned wisdom with the years. I'm also watching my dad who's in his late 70's restore an old John Deere wagon for a local museum and having a blast. My son and I are his project buddies on this. Don't...

    Junker Tune Up

Like mike n has said, steer clear of flux core on that thin stuff. We use it at work for fabricating and outside work, but it runs pretty hot. And it can be finicky with certain wire. I used flux core to repair a 7 yard bucket on a Cat 970 loader. Material is an inch thick. Just sayin...

Moving to WA - should I go to Vancouver-area or Seattle-area?

Pilgrim, friends and I used to drive down to Fort Collins from Laramie. Beautiful country there too from May to October. Little chilly otherwise.

Used to be pretty wary of people with CA plates. We were told to enjoy our stay, but feel free to go home. I think Seattle also rates highly for stuff to do outdoors.

West Seattle! The Spud, Alkai beach, hop on a bus and hit Bass Northwest, great transit system up there. Sequim is nice up on the peninsula too. My dad grew up on west 35th when it was two lanes. I-5 has turned into a parking lot the last few times we were there. Like I-80 from the bay...

is it to hard to change a clutch on a front wheel drive car at home?

Hdracer, very true, one bad experience..... Holt does a great job doing work my shop is not set up for. I don't have an amp tech as we have electrical engineers at work that will do side jobs. The complexity of new vehicles is also increasing very rapidly. word is, CARB is looking to seal...

is it to hard to change a clutch on a front wheel drive car at home?

I truly hate working on my vehicles, however, they run when I'm done and I know fasteners are tight and parts won't fall off on the freeway. Just watched a friend of mine fight an oil change place over a cracked pan. Watched my boss fight a dealership because they kept throwing parts at his...

Anyone here on your feet all day at work?

Schmit boots from tractor supply work great for me 10 hours and 6 days. I go through boots in six months so cost and comfort are key. I'm 6'7" and 275. Not in a standing job though. Lots of walking.

Lots to be said for a new ring gear too.

    Engine design idea

Millitary had some ceramic engines that ran without cooling aside from oil.. I'll have to look it up though.
