There's no other difference between those two than block inlays and matched headstock. And yes, I'd choose Sandberg over non-Custom Shop Fender any day.

Sandbergs are really nice instruments, Holger & Co are doing a great job. :) That Basic Ken Taylor-model with exotic top is astonishing bass, my all time favorite Sandberg.

The bass is Sandberg, those four chrome dots are their logo. On exotic top-models they are made from abalone.

My first thought was that there is a very long pin connecting the bridge to some kind of a resonator inside the horn, a bit like violin sound post. But that's just a guess, I really don't know, it could just be a massive folded horn-type bass port without any more trickery. I try to find out...

I also recommend bass number 2, number 1 can be great but if you can't compare them IRL it's safer to go with a new and unaltered bass. About those Bartolinis or other high-end pickups, if you have friends in Bulgaria or other EU-country you can ask if they can help. Thomann and Banzaimusic sell...

I assume you are talking about non-Gibson Firebird-necks, real T-bird neck would need a lots and lots of work and one extra T-bird to ruin.. Epiphone etc. bolt-on neck most likely can be fitted, it will need reshaping the neck pocket but otherwise I don't see any problems.

That's AEB10, AEB305 is a five string version of AEB30. I don't remember Ibby making other acoustic fivers recently than AEB305, of course I can be wrong.

My guess would be Ibanez AEB305.

I think it's home build but very nice and clean one, who ever did it has experience in woodcrafts at least. It needs new strings, though, those are too short.

About 10 years ago I had to fix this one Charvel that had been smashed onstage, the fretboard had ripped off and snapped around 12th fret. Body had split in three pieces. Boy that was fun to fix.. I really like people who destroy their instruments, especially those who want them to be fixed...
