and how often would you use said bass in a real life situation without being amplified? if adding electronics adds too many variables then surely the difference in tone caused by the difference in neck is going to be negligible to the overall sound when amplified?

don't know whether it's the photograph or your colour coordination that makes these two basses look a fair bit more amazing than normal... but either way, good job (on the jazz especially)!
