Do you own or want to own a bass of your birth year?

Since I can't afford 50s era basses, I've instead concentrated on late 70s era Peaveys. USA-made, STILL relatively affordable, STILL heavy, STILL wonderfully versatile and made out of solid ash. All hail the 70s T-40 and the rest of the family!

There is no way on God's Green Earth that I could afford ANY bass still in good shape that would have been built in 1954!!!!!

    Fresh 'stangs?

I hate to be that guy....but ya know you could always grab a USED JMJ, then paint it any dang color you want. STILL cheaper than a Custom Shop! Problem solved!

    U.S. Peavey Club

And here I was mistakenly thinking that the only "T-Series" models that had a rosewood FB were the fretless models. Learn somethin' new every day, I tell ya!

Howza Bout THIS? HAYMAN 40/40 Here is a very unusual Hayman 40/40 bass. Made in England by Jim Burns (Burns Bison Bass) for The Dallas-Arbiter company from 1970-1973. Has a full powerful P Bass tone and lots of cool Perspex - Smoked, like the PU covers and pickguard, or clear like the bridge...

Help me pick the pickguard for this P bass! (Poll)

Gold ALWAYS goes with green! (IMHO)

Would I like to have a 1954 Fender Precision? Without question! I can think of no situation except for winning Publi sher's Clearing House grand prize that would facilitate such a purchase. A man can dream, though....right?
