Looks great! I've only tried playing T20's with maple fretboards, loved the necks, every one of them, but never got along with the T20's body contours, though I really like the look. How does that rosewood fretboard compare to the maple ones?

And here I was mistakenly thinking that the only "T-Series" models that had a rosewood FB were the fretless models. Learn somethin' new every day, I tell ya!

Spotted this today. Is this an original Peavey color? Owner says excellent shape but my "not so good" eyes spot a few things. Appears to have a rusty bridge, and rusty pickguard screws. I really can't get a good look at it. What do you guys see, other than being overpriced?

It's a "Patriot Custom", in Peavey parlance matching peghead made it "Custom"
Seller has the year wrong, Patriots were discontinued in 1988. Rusty screws can be replaced easily and at $270 it's $210 cheaper than the natural currently on MGR.
That bass has not been cleaned or even wiped down or dusted in many years.
The bridge appears to be black and might be okay, either way it's easy to replace cheaply.
Tuners look chrome and may be okay, the old tuners Peavey used held up well.
Might be a junk bass but could just as likely be fine.
Go look at it and see if the neck is still working correctly, and if the pickup makes sound.
The pickguard doesn't look cracked in the usual spot, which is good.

Yes its an original color. I think you had to order that color...? You should go check it out. The chrome tuners may not bo OG as my Teal custom is all black hardware. Image for inspiration.
Thanks guys. It's 120 miles from me but not a bad day's ride. Giving it some serious thought. Any more ideas?
I would call and discuss the bass a bit with him before you go.
You can point out your observations and tell him it's worth $200 in that condition, see what kind of reaction that gets you.
It may be dirty, but it does look like it’s in great condition.
I don’t think it’s overpriced. I think it’s priced fairly for its age and presumed condition. Though, I would ask about fret wear.
If I were local, I’d probably go for it.
Yeah that doesn't look like an "excellent condition" guitar to me either. It looks....corroded....and neglected. IME when they get that crusty there's a good chance there are other issues too. Like maybe neck/truss/fret problems. If it has any of those issues, it's not worth the price. I think you'd need to do a really close in-hand inspection. Bring a 5/16" short barrel socket tool with for the truss checkup if you go. Good luck.
Edit; Like Bleeker said, those specials usually came with black hardware, like the bridge and string tree, but the tuners look chrome in the pic. Could be someone changed them out at some point, which wouldn't surprise me. I've had three old Peaveys with black Titan tuners, every one of them had at least one stripped tuner gear. Something about those black Titans that's problematic....or I had an unlikely run of bad luck. I suspect the black finish is not durable like chrome is, wears thru down to the raw brass gears after a while. Then, failure.

That's actually not a bad price for that one, looks pretty nice. Except the shipping fee is a bit gougey, and there's going to be that pesky sales tax too. Hard to see the extent of the fret wear. But still, it's a rarity these days. If it was Heather, it'd be on its way here, and I'd deal with the frets myself. I've bought from Atomic twice before, received exactly what was described both times, including an accurate weight. Even so, I'd ask about the neck, truss, and if the elecs are still all orig.

Oh yeah that's pretty ugly. Yes taxes and shipping sure do put a lot of things above price-point.Good thing I already have one... If that bass was Pearl Heather I wound not have posted it...I'da bought it... LOL!
