Bass sounded great..beautiful deep tones..guitarist was no slouch either.
That is an excellent recording. Everyone sounds wonderful. Even the drummer! LOL
Makes me want that model of Forum. I did have one of those for a while but the single PU did not have the tone I prefer. It was similar in tone to the single PU G bass. The GV is one of my favorite Peavey basses and I thought it strange of Peavey to make the single PU G when the GV sounds so fantastic with the Cirrus electronics.
I already have this Forum....a most wonderful bass and the very best P/J I have ever played. This passive version was only made for 2 years.

I am a fan of the Jazz Bass/Foundation pickup locations, but never solo the bridge pickup. The pickup positions of a Ric, or in this case, a P spot with the 'end of fingerboard' spot, is way more to my liking when I want to take advantage of two usable soloed pickup tonalities but still get the cool, scooped blended pickup tones.Always think it's a good idea to add the second pickup up north instead of down south.

A fingerboard pickup that has clarity is a great tone. I love my SF at the end of the fingerboard on RicRiot.

Dang, wish I'd have seen it. I have all the missing parts to complete that thing. At that price even if the neck is a bit wonky, it's be worth sending it down to TX for repair. Just glad it wasn't Heather!

Peavey gang...my trusty TL has developed a crackly hiss in active mode. Passive mode everything sounds great. I used a minimal amount of DeOxit on the pots and they all sound clean. Changed to a new 9 volt. Seems like it it also comes and goes...but doesn't fully disappear. I've got an instrument repair buddy I can get it to in a few days but wanted to see if anyone here had anything else I can try. The noise in only there when I play notes and seems a little more noticeable on the G string. Thanks for any help.
If the integrated circuit is mounted in a connector, I would try moving it in the socket (partially unplug and then fully seat it again to clean the contacts) and see if that helps. You may have a noisy capacitor in the circuit. There is very little that can go wrong so it should be easy to repair.

Change the $ sign to £ and that's what I got for a fully functional 96 black/maple Foundation this week.
Might have raised £200 but certainly not the £385 one eBay seller is hoping for. Pretty sure that eBay seller asked me for pricing advice, told him no UK sales in the previous 6 months made over £199. Next day I spotted his ad £380, that was last August
Tuesday saw a T-40 auction end, from 24 watchers just 3 entered a bid. Opening price was £400, ended at £477. So much for "highly sought after/rare/collectable"

Saw that this morning and it took all of my willpower to not get it. I told myself that if it was still available after dinner, I'd get it. I knew it would be gone.
I would have just moved all of the parts from my 87 pearl white body/87 Patriot neck frankenstein to complete it.

I'm not sure either. There was a bunch of catalog scans posted on this thread a year or so ago. It has a breakdown chart of the color options for each model. I think I copied those scans..? I'll see if I can find them. It will be easier to find them on my computer than in this loooong thread. haha.
This is my pearl white FoundRiot, flanked by the two black 84s. It has since received a truss rod cover and the black tuner has been removed and a chrome Xtender key is on the low E.
After getting the wide nut 85 Patriot neck for my RicRiot, I had the original narrow nut neck off my 87 Patriot, some extra tuners, a couple SF pickups and some green J bass knobs laying around. This body (loaded with the pots, jack, bridge and neck plate) popped up on ebay for $50. Grabbed it and put together another bass! I was pleasantly surprised it was a pearl white body, as it was described as just 'white.' TBH, I don't like white instruments, but the price was right and pearl white is actually very nice, I can fully hang with that color, it's not flat and 'boring' to my eye.
