I have recently done this same exact thing, waiting for the body to come in. Did you find the SX neck to be too deep? too wide? or both?

You could try a sansamp Tech 21 (190$) or the cheaper Behringer BDI21 (40$). They ar DI's which can emulate that SVT sound that you are looking for. I personally have the Behringer as I wanted to save some money, it gets you reallly darn close to Mark Hoppus's tone in Blink 182

I set it myself, im no pro but i know what im doing, I intonated the neck, set the truss rod to have a just a bit of bow which I like. Strings are just high enough to have a little buzz to em, adjusted the bridge to have perfect octave note, so really the only complaint I have with the bass...
