Indeed. The Acoustic b100 is a very versatile little amp. I play through an Acoustic B200 with a cheap semi hollow violin bass with flats and get amazing tonal range, punch and clarity.

I bought a really pretty blue one like that from China some years ago. It sounded great but the neck was really chunky and it was quite heavy. Never played a real Ric. Good bass for $250 but did not feel right playing a counterfeit.

Don't take the fun out of music.

I had a Little Mark II with a pair of NY112s for about 10 years. It was a great rig. Now lugging a combo 15 again and missing those 29lb squares.

I gigged with the Magma tapewounds and they are keepers. Good clear fundamentals and very little noise when using a pick. Plenty of sustain and even sounding across all 4 strings. (I wasn't fiddling with my amp all night) I've used 2 other brands of tapewounds in the past, I think Labellas...

Trying these. They feel good not sticky or funny, but more like a smooth round wound than a flat wound. Flexible and low tension 53-113 on the box but seem not so fat. Also they are much brighter than expected but they sound very nice on my P. I will be trying them on a gig next week and see...

I have tried all of the list except Gibson. Chromes are too stiff. GHS are too rough. Rotos are terrible. DR Legends and LaBella used to be better. I like TIs best on a short scale. I have Dunlops on my P and am happy.

They can stick it. Not worth half that.

I've played lots of basses in lots of bands as well, but always take one bass to a gig so this unintentional comparison was a surprise. Can't get that deep punch from the P and it really made a big difference in this band with harp and just one guitar.

The pups are too close to the strings. Shim the neck so you can raise the bridge. Then adjust the poles with the E highest. edit-and you still might want a compressor.

In 1969 I bought a new Telecaster Bass stamped DEMO that had the big Humbucker. I blew the speaker in my Ampeg B18 Portaflex twice with that monster. I think I paid $140 back then and sold it when I went to college.
