when i was learning guitar my teacher told me to watch how eric clapton would slide up or down a fret if he ever his a wrong note. We called it 'claptonning' :)

im still not getting what you're trying to say. you're putting a pop on a note. that's slap / pop. i agree that slapping can work in any genre, just as any musical technique can. i just don't get what point you were trying to make.
