Stage-left or stage-right? What is your preference?

I prefer to have my amp on stage right. Just feels comfortable and always happens to end up that way. But because I'm also the vocalist for the band, I stand in the center ;)

BadAss II Bridge--Is it really the be all end all of bridges?

I have the BAII on 3 of my basses. I put one on my first squier P bass (along with some other parts) when i didn't have the dough to get a better bass. It came stock on my FSR hot rod jazz. I also put one on my fretless jazz. I think it added a nice bite to the P-bass. I wish I didn't put it...

Geddy Lee Fender Jazz and other Jazzes--how to modify and why?

Try an active preamp. Audere audio makes sweet preamps that fit right into the control plate w/o any body modifications. They're fairly inexpensive too. With that you'll be able to boost the frequencies you want to hear. http://audereaudio.com

    If Squier was Fender

I'd rather buy one of the nicer Squiers instead of a MIM (except for the roadworns). It's unfortunate that people will turn down a good instrument for a name. I'll admit that I've done the same in the past though. I just recently bought a Squier CV 60s Jazz and a Fender FSR hot rod jazz. I...

fender road worn vs. custom relics

i've played all of the roadworn guitars. They sound really nice. the wear on the neck is a little obvious lookin but the job on the body is pretty cool. haven't actually seen the basses yet. i think it's a good idea. now you can get a cool lookin relic'd guitar for a third of the price. i'm...

    MIA Jazz or EBMM HS?

I had this same exact decision when I finally saved enough money to get a good bass. The MusicMan or that beautiful Sunset Orange Transparent Jazz. I had played the jazz in a mom and pop shop and fell in love.......then someone bought it. A year or two later I got a job at a guitar shop and...
