Official Markbass Club Pt. 2

Finally got my Berg AE112 to go with my LMII. The first thing I noticed was that my P-Bass was trebly. I could hear the sound of my fingers sliding on the rounds quite clearly. I am running the LMII flat. I turned the tone down on my bass and it was pretty good. Then I "discovered" the VLE knob. With the EQ still flat, I have the VLE almost all the way up and the tone on my P-Bass is back up to almost full as well. This sounds pretty good.
I have only had one day to play but I am liking this setup. Once I figure out how to work it with the '57 RI, I will need to try the VM TB with flats and the Audere-equipped Jazz.
Anyone else running this combo (LMII/AE112/P-Bass/rounds)? What settings are you loving?

Instead of turning the VLE all the way up try the tweeter control on the back of your AE112. You might find that cutting it off a little is all you need to get a good basic tone. Then you can address the VLE with a more moderate approach. If you over use it you might kill some frequencies you'd rather have.

The tweeter control on the AE112 adjusts the volume of the tweeter, of course. It is very powerful, there is no chance you will not notice a difference unless something went wrong in your signal chain. If you can, try the cab with a different head, even a different bass. Try another AE112 to check if the problem is there.
I'm using this cab with a F1 head or as a second cab with the CMD121p. The tweeter control is very useful to dial in the right sound for any musical situation. I hope it'll work for you too.

I tried again with the tone on my bass cranked up all the way. I could tell a difference when I adjusted the tweeter but not as much as I expected. It could be that I am working with a too low of a volume since I am at home at the moment. Anyway, I have turned the tweeter down a bit and also backed off the tone on the bass. The VLE is about halfway (looks flat like the EQ knobs) and it sounds pretty good (to me). I have also tweaked the VPF just a touch. This is hardly scientific but it sounds OK. I really need to get to a practice to see what kind of difference it really makes.

I've been looking for an amp that was easy to carry, and I finally found one!

I hooked it up to my Acoustic B115 cab for fun, and it rattled everything of the wall!!! Killer little amps :D

I totally dig it. Each time you hit a note on one of those gorgeous CB's through the new Markbass is a legitimate reason to open a bottle of wine - on the left.

Okay, here's my SA450, my new LDS cab and one of my babies:

It sounds great and so LOUD. I love the control this amp provides. I opened it up to about 10:00 and sent the dog running to hide. :p I cant wait to get it to the next gig!

The weight difference is amazing! What a beautiful piece of equipment. :) :) :)
