Official Markbass Club Pt. 2

...not only that, but the digital efx pedals have USB interfaces and computer programs so they can be internally customized.
This is great! That means my LMII is on the road to becoming a collector's item! I'm going to plant the rumor that the LMIII isn't as good as the LMII starting right now, despite never having heard the LMIII! 
If I had never bought an LMII, these new amps would look more attractive to me. But the LMII does everything I need it to do, which at this point is be a backup/bad weather amp, so I'm going to sit this revision out.
I have to tell you guys...as the one who started this little club out of enthusiasm for what I consider a revolutionary product, I hate to admit it but I find myself pushing away from Markbass lately. The LMII's tubey sound led me right back to tube amps, so I use vintage Ampegs the vast majority of the time now. You just can't get that sexy feeling of large amounts of air moving through a tube amp, and you can't turn the volume up and hear the sound bloom in an SS amp, although you can cop many aspects of the tube sound. Didn't realize how much I missed it.
Plus there is also the looks factor. I know it shouldn't count, but it does. At first I dug the tiny size and the love-it-or-hate-it black/yellow look. Now, after a few months of lugging my heavy but beautiful Fliptops regularly, looking back at my rig during a gig and seeing that LMII on top of my gorgeous blue checker cab gives me a douche chill. I still think it's the best SS amp ever made, but let's face it...it's a tiny black and yellow amp. And when I pull it out and the other guys in the band give me that look like I'm wussing out and making them look less than manly, I'm starting to bow to the peer pressure, despite being quite happy with the sound.
You'll have to kill me to get my #1 number, though!

MARKBASS added a push pull mute switch at the master volume knob for their latest models.
do you think that they would allow to get this push pull mute switch as a mod kit for the LMII and other older models? i am sure the any service center, or decent technician would be able to do a mod like this.

I just got my LMK. I have tried it at home and I'm liking it a lot (reheasal tomorrow)...great tones and features and a big plus: I had an old footswitch that works perfectly for the channel switch so I don't need to buy the original MB footswitch. This allow me to effectively mute the amp for tuning.
Yeah the lack of a mute yanks my chain too. Just added a Korg Pitch Black to my pedal board so I now have the mute there.
At least not by Mark Bass, but there is another vendor that does/will if that's important to you...
Just scored an F1 on GC clearance over the weekend. If the practice room shake down is any indication, this little puppy will be moving into the lead slot in my rock gigging rig.

The only next gen F1 I'm aware of is the F500.$449 ($499 + the 10% coupon, although they made a big deal about "taking" the coupon, whatever...)
As long as we're starting rumors, were F1's being closed out for F2???

Well, my TA501 finally shipped out today so I should have it in a couple of days. Has anyone A/B'ed the LMII and the TA501? Curious to hear how they compare.
Okay, so it didn't ship out until yesterday but it arrived here today. Quite the....uhm....experience dealing with GC on this amp. Have to say, if I didn't get it dirt cheap I would not be at all happy right now.
Anyway, does anyone know if the TA501 is supposed to come with rack ears? I ask because mine arrived sans original box, no paperwork, nothing but a power cord tossed in with some bubble wrap in a Staples box. I tried to find someplace online to order a set but I'm having no luck at all. Any ideas?
