I have the Vox version. For the last 4 years I've used it for my office bass. Sound is pretty good. It doesn't drain batteries quickly. Made in Japan - bonus. It feels plenty solid - not likely to break easily. My phone is connected by wire to the device, so I have to keep it in my back...

I would not toss the gig bag. Cat pee forms stinky crystals when dried that will not be washed out... The only way I have gotten the smell out of fabrics is to toss it into a large bucket with an equal mix of vinegar and water, and a little dish soap. Once the pee smell is completely gone...

Some cool ideas - and a nice looking result. Would threaded inserts work for the neck? If so, I am thinking they would prevent wear and stripping from repeated dismantling and tightening of the screws.

Looks like the new "Tokai" bass in Australia is made in China. I do not know how the current brand relates to the Tokai from the 1980s. Caveat emptor. There's a shop in the UK selling new Made in Japan Tokais - so maybe they are nice? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

There was a post recently about how the Warwick truss rods are replaceable... Can the string nut and shim be removed completely to get a closer look?
