    The diode mod is too harsh. I don't bother using it. Just crank the gain and the mids around 1.5k. Smoother drive and no bass end loss....

    It's a chorus pedal. The only real effect he's used. Vital Signs, YYZ, Madrigal. His sound man used a Roland Chorus on the bass live to thicken it during the Exit Stage Left tour times. The effect was on with the chorus effect on minimum. No chorus, just extra clang and beef... :)

    Volume loss on low E

    Give the E side truss rod a tweak. Very slightly. Not enough to change the relief. Doing this has helped on my Ricky. Changes the neck resonance a bit so the E is louder and clearer.

    ESL era Geddy's Ricky ran neck pickup clean and overdrive on the bridge pickup. Just to clarify.     New amp and cab (orange terror and Ampeg 210AV) don't work with the band mix.

    A grand to fix the neck??? Take it to a decent luthier who will probably do it for a third of the price. You will end up with a stronger neck too...
