    Unknown Hofner Club Bass

My CT Club Bass is much nicer than the MIG instrument I've owned since 2003. On mine I installed D'Addario Half-Rounds and I paid a local tech to set it all up. Very nice. The MIG axe has prettier wood, but the MIC CT axe is the player. I think these little Hofner basses are off the radar...

My horrific Hofner experience – other owners, chime in!

I completely agree with the OP. I bought (unseen, through a reputable dealer; because none was available locally) a German-made 500/2 Club bass in 2003. The neck has always been a problem; OK at first but sank fast. In 2008 while living in Rhode Island, I made an appointment with the bass guy...

    Another Hofner Bass Day

I love playing my Hofner CT Club Bass. Absolutely install better strings. What a fine little bass!

Need Advice and Opinions On Hofner Club Basses

I own a MIG 500/2 Club Bass and a MIC CT Club Bass. The Chinese bass, I'm afraid, is built far better although the wood isn't as pretty. My MIC Club is a much better player in my opinion. Additionally, I prefer the center "sustain" block; it adds a pound or so of weight/mass, but makes the...

    Anybody

With due respect, do any of y'all personally know a player who regularly uses a Gretsch bass on an actual bandstand? Thanks!

Round wound strings on a Hofner?

I've had a Hofner 500/2 that did great with the LaBella BB strings. I now have a new HCT Club Bass and I'm gonna try D'Addario Half-Rounds on it. The half rounds, I have been using for one bass or another since c.1992. The semi-center-sustain-whatever block in the HCT makes me wanna try this...

    Sekova Basses???

My first bass was a Sekova Beatle Bass knockoff in 1966. It got played through a Supro Thunderbolt. My, how times have changed!

    hollowbody help

I just got a CT-series Hofner 500/2 Club Bass. I have a German version, but it's always been a pig. This new one needs a little setup, but right out of the box it sounds great even with the horrid OEM Chinese round wounds. This is an excellent little bass in my opinion.

"Lopo Line" Custom Bass 15 "Cabinets

I put an eight-ohm Eminence Definimax 15" driver in the little Lopo bass cabinet. It can handle some power and I think is an excellent cabinet for its size/portability. This one is driven with an Eden WT550 plus Tech 21 VT Bass DI preamp all to amplify a base vile with piezo bridge pickup.

Tech 21 VT Bass 1000 Watts

So I bought a VT Bass 1000. One thing not being discussed much is the PA section. This amp is FAST, much faster than a Chinese Crown XLS1000. I'm not certain of the correct technical term for this. The power is really clean and spaces between the notes jump out. It's very cool. It's also...

Tech 21 Red Ripper vs the VT??

I use my VT Bass DI (and the Red Ripper serially following) straight into a 1KW power amp and 4X10 plus 1X15 cabinets. It's a pretty good setup.

    Tech-21 Red Ripper Review

I play fingerstyle and I love my Red Ripper. Muting is done with the outside of my right pinky as required. This pedal is great for dynamics, and it fits me perfectly. I go easy on the 'Level' control; the three tone controls are self-explanatory. The R.I.P. knob controls the amount of...

Tech 21 VT Bass 1000 Watts

Peavey cannot touch Tech21 in quality of sound nor build. If y'all don't think it's worth the dinero (without ever hearing it) then plunk yer dough on a Chinese box.

Tech 21 VT Bass 1000 Watts

I like Tech21 gear and I respect their workmanship. No way you get a real SVT made in the USA for under two grand. I have owned and maintained a Sunn 300T, and brother, y'all better be willin' the maintenance. The Tech21 stuff is lighter and much more reliable over time. It is idiocy to...
