Regarding Tracking. Here's my summary and some key points from a few posts I found here.
Playing cleanly is a must to getting the best tracking and remember to mute with either right, left or both hands.
No news to me, just if anyone finds this post always start with that :)
I wrote a few...
The FIeditor v4.5 or earlier has a bug where it would not open again because the settings file would get some data blanked out resulting in the FIeditor not able to open again.
Recently documented here...
Yeah, I think there are footswitches with similar feel close to momentary, that can latch by themselves, so like a traditional footswitch with click. That could work, but current solutions is to use the momentary and SW/HW for latching, since it's a cheaper and more durable solution.
The Panda...
oh thx, I will have to look into that, so much to learn for FI :)
I just run FI stock and set the input and out levels.
Same with the MXR where I just set output levels, never touched anything regarding tracking.
So many complained about it and I have so far never heard one single glitch.
I...

So VA is 0 and FM is 2

Example of switch pedal for program down and sustain on my T-Rex ToneTrunk 56 Pedalboard
Temporary setup on my synth/octave Pedalboard
The Ampero Switch is very low profile and works great in front...
Yeah I quickly had to accept the fact that zero envelope sustain is a thing; didn't even think about it for this pedal. It makes perfect sense of course.
The sustain is not like a freeze pedal (looping a sample snapshot), but a built-in part of the sound envelope, with the advantages this gives.
Thanks, this was the thing .... the first FM preset is with zero envelope sustain and I just didn't test sustain on others lol.
The sustain now works as intended for both VA and FM.
You can make this smooth tone change with sustain, super useful :)
How quick was this bug fix turn-around, good...
Yeah, so if you can hold a note with either FIeditor keyboard or Bass then sustain/freeze should also work in either VA/FM (non-zero envelope sustain).
But if the note automatically decays by itself, as with an intentional zero envelope sustain built-in, then you cannot sustain/freeze.
I will...
LOL I didn't even see the release notes .pdf, but kept searching for it :)
I was looking for the sustain/freeze for FM and hoping it would somehow be possible.

Version 4.51 4/30/2026
3. MIDI CC64 (Sustain) for FM implemented
Tested NOT working in FM, but...
Thank you so much...
I can confirm my mentioned bugs are fixed :)
Set-list now works as assumed switching between FM and VA in all off or on and is 1-50 VA and 50-99 FM.
FIeditor keyboard no longer triggers strange things
Yeah I noticed the click/pops too, wasn't at first sure they were only related to certain algo sounds or all of them.... so I didn't mention it. But it put me off and through it was a tracking issue compared to VA mode.
Sure, when you're in dexed CART menu with folders and patches, then it's easy to drag&drop into a dummy .syx file you copied from any existing. While in dexed it does it in memmory, so you can exit out of CART mode to preview it and dexed remmembers the just modified patch until you exit without...
